Death Penalty
Suddam Hussein has been found guilty of crimes against humanity, and been sentanced to the death penalty. I don't deny he is guilty, but I find this sentence bizzare. Amnesty International have this to say about the death penalty -
"The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment.
It violates the right to life.
It is irrevocable and can be inflicted on the innocent. It has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments."
Is the sentence itself not a crime against humanity?
