Seeing
I read about a Bangladeshi mother who had her eyed saved in the Metro on Tuesday.
In a previous edition that I had missed, the paper had reported about her plan to sell one of her eyes to feed her young daughter. That edition had told that she is homeless, her husband has left her, and she is destitute.
Metro readers contacted the paper and asked how they could help her. Money poured in, and her eye was saved by the humanity of the readers. She is now getting aid, and has been given housing.
This is a heartbreaking story, unfortunately around the world there will be mothers & fathers in such poverty that they will have to sell an eye, or a kidney.
